Emma A Anderson (Hodel) has performed in shows and concerts since 1995 for Hulviz Operatic Society and TEPOS. Her roles to date include Julie (Carousel), Cupid (Orpheus in the Underworld), Peep Bo (The Mikado), Eliza (My Fair Lady), Calamity Jane), Snow White (Hulviz panto), Ado Annie (Oklahoma), Karolka (Summer Song) and Hildy (On the Town). Emma was delighted to play the role of Hodel; having played Tzeitel when much younger, she appears to be regressing in age - on stage at any rate!

John Anderson
(Fyedka) first "trod the boards" in the mid '90s and has since appeared on stage in various guises - from Guys and Dolls (Joey Biltamore) and Me and My Girl (Pearly King) to Hobson's Choice, Crimes of the Heart and The Dumb Waiter. Musical roles include Buggins (Half a Sixpence), Francis Fryer (Calamity Jane), Will Parker (Oklahoma), Joe (Summer Song), and Chip (On the Town). Playing Fyedka was John's first ever speaking role.
Brian Butler (Tevye) first hit the stage in Uncle Peter Webster's talent show on Blackpool's Central Pier in 1957. He has never looked back (well, once maybe). He has failed four times to pass an audition for Tevye and is delighted to be fifth time lucky with TEPOS. Other roles have included Fagin, Professor Higgins, King Arthur, Richard III, the Duke of Plaza Toro; Henry II, Daddy Warbucks and over 100 appearances as a Music Hall chairman. He has written and edited two dictionaries, two pantomimes and a number of cabaret revues and wishes to make it clear that when he said on stage that he had five daughters, this could not be further from the truth - he was acting.
Suzanne Dean (Chava) joined TEPOS in 2003 for its production of Iolanthe and enjoyed being a fairy so much that she couldn't wait to be in Fiddler this time round. Suzanne has performed with Hulviz playing Milli in Summer Song and Rose in Meet Me in St Louis. Since her first show in 2001, Suzanne has become totally hooked and especially loved performing in Muscial Nights last year. Suzanne stepped into the role of Chava just four weeks prior to the show, having initially been cast as The Fiddler - which included joining the mae chorus for the bottle dance!
Lucy Kendall (Tzeitel) has a background in classical singing and regularly appears in live concerts, TV appearances and on recordings with The Purcell Singers. Musical theatre is a new departure for her and this will be her first production since she took the role of Maria in The Sound of Music at school. Lucy's musical inspiration comes from her mother, Carol (also a trained classical singer) and her husband, Mark. When not performing she works full-time as the Medical Defence Union's Customer Service Manager. Her other interests include country walking, food and wine and she has a penchant for dachshunds.
Mark Kendall (Perchick) last sang in a musical 18 years ago when his voice had barely broken. Since then his musical life has taken a more classical direction, and speaking rather than singing dialogue is still a bit confusing. He gave up choirs years ago and learned to sing properly at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. Mark has sung for Opera North, English Touring Opera, Pagasus Opera, Opera Omnibus and Lakeland Opera. He has played an evil monster, a manservant, a naive Italian Prince, Emperor Nero, a tragic Russian poet and a nasty suitor for a Greek princess. He is fed up with being killed on stage and hopes that the role of Perchik will be a welcome change. He is married to Lucy and pushes paper around for a French Investment Bank.
Stephen Milton (Motel) makes his debut appearance with TEPOS in this production but is playing Motel for the third time (he just can't keep his women). He has also managed to get the girl as Curly (Oklahoma), Sky Masterson (Guys & Dolls) and Frank Butler (Annie Get Your Gun). Stephen's other stage productions include King Lear (as the Fool), Lend Me a Tenor and Under Milk Wood but his favourite to date was the Emcee in Cabaret. Stephen thanks Iona Jones for turning him into the performer he is today and his mother, for having him.
Sandra Vamplew (Yente) started amateur dramatics in 1982 in Sidcup Operatic's production of Fiddler on the Roof, and has since had great fun both as a member of the chorus and in various principal roles. She particularly loves Gilbert & Sullivan and has performed in all 13 of the Savoy Operas, many more than once!
Myra Warwick (Golde) sings in a variety of styles from oratorio to modern musical and has been performing for more years than she cares to remember! Until recently, she appeared regularly at Hever Castle as part of its Summer Festival, and has travelled twice to perform in Zimbabwe. Myra first appeared with TEPOS last year as the Fairy Queen in Iolanthe and - having performed some saucy Music Hall numbers in the Society's 2003 Music Hall - she was delighted to play Golde, a part very dear to her heart.
Barbara Archer (Director) studied singing at Blackheath Conservatoire and took a Theatre Arts Course at Goldsmith's College. She has directed over 50 musicals, operettas and operas for various companies in the South-East and has played principal roles in 65 others. In 2003, she was soloist in Musical Nights - a spectacular open-air event in Woolwich with the Royal Artillery Band - playing to 2,000 people per night. She is currently working on productions of Princess Ida and Anything Goes, to be performed at the Bob Hope Theatre by Ferrier and Hulviz Operatic Societies in spring and autumn 2004 respectively and is also directing the TEPOS autumn concert.
Alan Thompson (Musical Director) is a native of Jarrow but came south at an early age; having decided to make a career out of music, he hasn't been able to afford the journey back! Alan spent 28 years with the Royal Artillery Band, where he played piano, cello and clarinet (not all at the same time) and has been musical director of every TEPOS show and concert since 1971. He classes himself as a "musical navvy" and will turn his hand to most things.
